* We do collect larger trees but,
- as these are much heavier (making harder work for our crews)
- and take up a lot more space in a van (requiring more trips to the drop off points),
we do charge extra for them.
We are Joel Berry of Berry’s Trees and Gardens Ltd and Mitchel Ingham of JM Trees and Groundcare.
We have been friends for a number of years and originally decided to put our efforts into raising money for a good cause in our quieter winter period. Collecting and chipping trees seemed a perfect fit for us.
We enjoyed it so much that we have continued with the project every year, despite our respective businesses having grown considerably since January ’18.
We are now approaching our seventh year of running the project and are prepped and ready for January ’25.
Book NowWhen we are started we hired a van, used our own chippers and chipped the trees ourselves.
We are pleased to say we still managed to raise over £7000 for the Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity. It felt good to do something constructive with so many trees.
Since then, we have expanded so much we need to hire half a dozen vans for a week and employ driver and collector crews.
Chipping of over 3000 trees also needs industrial scale machines, but we have tripled our donations, thanks to people like you.
